I am looking for old pictures made with telephoto lens.
I think more particularly to sport pictures as football, tennis, moto/cars ?

I want to see thoses pictures that require a great skill without AF.

Thank you

Maybe you can go to the local library and look in the newspapers of the 70's (if they still have them)?

Another option: Google Books. There are already thousands of old magazines available through them.

Yes, however did we manage?

A few shots from the IMSA race at Riverside International Raceway, 1986:

Wynn's Porsche on the backstretch, over 200 mph. Canon F-1, Tamron SP 60-300, Kodachrome 64.

Bridgestone Porsche 962 coming out of Turn 9. Ditto above gear.

Group 44 Jaguar XJR-7 passing a Camaro. Ditto above gear.

SCCA Club Racing, circa 1987.

Canon F-1, Sigma 600mm f/8 mirror, Kodachrome 64.

Canon F-1, lens unrecorded, Kodachrome 64.

Chino Air Show, 1991. Nikon F3, Tamron 300mm f/2.8 LD IF, Fujichrome 100.

P-38 Lightning

A-26 Avenger

All of the above images were scanned on an Epson 3170 scanner at a claimed 3200 ppi. Some PP was done to most of the images.

Yes of course. I have copyright imprints on some but not all of them.

I have this book - Its wonderful photography from 1958, all the action in the arena was shot on Tri-X with a Zeiss Sonnar 300mm on a Contax. A brilliant portfolio of early telephoto photography.

I will try scan some of it.

Scroll down a bit for an interesting bit about Peter Buckley and this book.
