Yes, this is an outstanding lens regarding sharpness and usability. The most desirable Elmarit and one of the best - if not best - short Macros I think. |

Wow, thats some heavy pricing.
For about $500 I would get this lens right away...
For $2000 and more, I wouldn't.
But yes, definitly on the wish list. |

I am ready to give 150 euros for this lens. Because it is small and I like the smooth Leica focus barrel.
For 200 euros, I prefer the Zeiss macro planar 60 who is better wide open, have less CA and go to 1:1 |

You are in real ready to give 150...
Dont know where you live, but must be out of space and time.. LOL
This makes me really laughing.
Take the macro planar if you prefer this.. you will not find a Leica Makro Elmarit 2.8/60 for that price in good shape..
And please, show me the CA from a Leica Makro Elmarit.
You have got one?.. i dont think so. Otherwise you wont speak in that terms.
Cheers

I used to have this lens -- I had a copy from x-ray work station!!!
It was sold to me for 160 GBP -- MINT!!
I had been using this lens for long time ... it's very good ...
The handling is like a HEAVEN!!
I sold it for the same price as bought (or so) with the adapter and bought Zeiss MP 2.8/60 instead (also mint)
They are both identical in the optical quality -- except this:
1 - Zeiss goes to 1:1
2 - Zeiss has better contrast
3 - Zeiss has less fringing and CA (almost nothing even wide open)
I didn't know that before selling the Elmarit.
The Elmarit is still an excellent glass, I think that it has more cheerful colours than Zeiss (a bit -- not too much!! ..) !!!
It's more creamy..

already got the macro planar for 200 euros
I miss a leica 60 for 150 euros, but I have still hope
I want to buy a Leica 60 because I like his small size in a bag
but it is like a toy, it cannot give the absolute control and precision of a macro planar |

What we are talking about? .. a late or one of the first Makro Elmarits?.
My copy takes the # 32xxxxx.
