This one is from Trapani, Sicily. A wonderful picturesque small town, full of photographic opportunity. I visioned this picture in orange (that is what it looked in real life because of the lighting type), but I wanted to see the image in B&W as well. Now I can't decide which one to use. Please help me out. C&C also welcome.

Being a classic type, I vote for B&W.
By the way, nice work!

Orange is better. Warmer feel, less distant atmosphere.

Orange version for me. Different reason.
Orange is close to red in color spectrum and seeing the title and the picture I had in mind a red-light district.

looks like yellow to me, and i like the yellow best. this is a case of the color looking grittier than the BW ...

The colour version. Very nicely done.

Also +1 for color version
Very nice. Very good atmosphere.

A slightly thicker DOF would have been imher nicer though
The B/W version could have been warmer in tones

I like B&W best. Orange is too orange for me; perhaps a deep red would work?

With B&W the figure's impact is more powerful and mysterious. I think this fits better with the fact that she's only a silhouette with no detail visible.
With orange, the environment becomes more important (and the person conversely less); for this reason I would expect some discernible detail in the woman
in the orange version, to fit better into the scene.

By the way, I wanted to ask: was she a local girl, or your wife/girlfriend serving you as model?

Thanks everyone! I do like both versions, but I think I will go with my instinct and use the original. Maybe I will make a new attempt at post processing the B&W version later on. Slightly warmer tones and a bit of grain maybe?

Orio: the girl is my girlfriend, we had a blast during the 10 minute session. A lot of confused people driving slowly by Smile

I'm glad you like the picture guys!

Btw, I think I forgot to tell you that the picture was taken with the Contax G Zeiss 45/2 Planar wide open

I like both versions, but the colour version has something extra in the details. Maybe a bit more processing on the B&W would help, but I'm not sure what it needs.

I too think that the B&W version shows potential but I need to get more skilled in the conversion process. I'm happy with the colour version for now and later on, I can go back and work on the B&W version.

I think B+W suits the theme - a bit dark and wild.

Hard to say ... I like both .It depends what do you want to emphasise . I'd go with the BW ,in the end ...The contour ,the shape is more important here than the color.
