I got one of my dream lens today from Ukraine I guess you already know I am crazy about lenses what is made around 1950.

This lens one of the earliest model I expect quality is better than later ones at least this was my experience on Helios-44 lenses. 00213 shows this lens made for communist party leaders in very early.

I have good compare basic on my previously owned Helios-40-2 and Helios 40 lenses. Might be I was wrong when I sold my MINT and excellent copies and buy this old used one. Might be I hit jackpot who knows Smile

My copy is excellent, sharp wide open. But doesn't quite focus infinity on Pentax K100D. Anyway, this is the last lens I will sell Smile serial number 631xxxxx

I'm sorry, I have no good pics to share right now. But I just tested it Helios-40 against Volna 50/1.8, both wide open. Helios seems better Smile Maybe I missed focus a bit with Volna because I like that lens too Confused

wide open the Volna is dreamy, a bit like Trioplan - I like this feature, because it gives a useful alternative, normally you don't use macro lenses at wide open, so if you want sharp you stop down - you use macro wide open only when you look for a painterly effect, and that is where this feature comes useful. I think it is a well planned lens.

rare lens has many cleaning marks light scratches and it was cleaned from fungus I guess I found some trace , but I am happy to get this early lens.
