hi,

Got this lens from my mom who found it at a flea market in France.

I had read about the helios 135 mm ( made in japan) and it being a decent performer.
But mine looks different than most ( quick google ), anyone any idea who made this one ?
Its can focus to 1.5m and weight is 280g and has no A M switch.

Now for the performance.

Its really sharp. ( wide open).
and for the rest there doesn't seem to be any big flaws.

This shot is at 2.8 ( cause no A M switch).
no sharpening or pp

100% crop

new 15/06/2011

all at 2.8, no pp- no Sharp on camera.

I don't know which is th tru, if one of those is.

I read that the helios is a Sigma made, and the other version is that it's a cosina lens.

Till I know, there are that two options. Laughing

I would say it looks pretty decent. Both color rendering and sharpness look very nice.

Looks great.
I had once with AM switch

aperture 2,8 to 22,

The closest focus written 1,5 meter
Internal hood provided,

I agree, this lens is sharp. showing some CA.

I think that might be a Cimko made lens, the diamond shape on the dof scale is the giveaway.

I found your helios a few times on google. ( yours looks nicely sharp).

iangreenhalgh1 thank u, you might be right.
I will look more into it. but first google search does not show allot of data.

Cimko has a hollow diamond mark and without a leading bar to it. I would say the above Helios resembles some Komura lenses like below, but most chances there is no relationship between them:
