The earlier pictures show a "normal" convex lens at the front. I'd guess yours has been re-assembled incorrectly, maybe by accident or deliberately, for "effect", as is done with Helios-44's to "enhance" the "bokeh-effect". Certainly worth testing it as-is then removing the front element and inverting it to see the differences.

Front element right way around but still crazy. I'll have a go at the rear one. Next I am guessing it should have a similar design to the Lithagon. The second element seems to be ok with the flat part facing rear.
