In a town near me (Jacksonville) there are many gold rush era buildings. This weekend they held a "Victorian Christmas" and several townspeople dressed up to sing carols. With the Oly 300 + Flektogon 2.,4/35 wide open (very dull day)

Oh , I almost forgot to say anything about the lens Embarassed I didn't used much but I guess a perfect lens in 35mm category.

Wide open? Wow!

Wide open? The lens or the singers' mouths? Twisted Evil
Singing people always look funny on photos. Very Happy

Really a good shot!

Fine details, and colours even with the difficult lightning.
Seems to be a nice lens...
Best regards,
jes.

Thanks all - yes this is rapidly becoming one of my favourite lenses. I like just about everything about it. The Oly is not as comfortable to the hand as the Nikons, but does just fine (or will do when I master it). I did not notice the "wide open"punning, but now you mention it....

Thanks Attila

Your Welcome! I spent more than one month after Nikon to get comfortable with Olympus, how about focusing ? That was my biggest problem with Oly.

Why you not buy an split screen or an AF confirm adapter ?
For Olympus E-1 not available AF confirm adapter only split screen.
AF confirm adapter let you do perfect focused shoots, but need to buy for every lens type.

It's a shame the infinitity focus adapters reputedly badly degrade images otherwise I'd be seriously tempted by this lens. A different body isn't an option at the moment... Nice shot BTW

I got the Oly as a quick and cheap way to try out M42 lenses and to see if I wanted to go down that path (remember I have some great nikkors). Now I have developed a dreaded curse of wanting more, I am seriously considering the Canon 40D, which will give me a lot more than the Oly. The Oly would then be gifted to my son-in-law who is about to be a father for the first time and has no camera. Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy

A beautifully clean image with vibrant coloration, even on the cloudy day. A very nice showing for the Flek 35!
