This one is the lens I waited almost 3 weeks. I'm happy that it arrived in good condition. This is in very good shape, but again, no caps. Instead it came in a nice zip case.
Is this lens:

It was marketed in europe as Revuenon 50 f:1.7 or Agfa Color 50 f:1.7 depending on the camera: Revue/Revueflex (AC3,SC3,...) or Agfa Selectronic .

Clean and beautiful. NICE MTF curves. I love the high-quality colored lettering, and the obvious robust construction. Nice catch, man! VERY nice catch. Makes you want to mount it up, and take off with the camera, even if it's just in the yard!

Thank you.

Couldn't resist and took some shots indoors (ISO 400 and wide open f:1.7)

(all are 6Mpx just RAW converted to Jpeg - so are big)

Hope my hand didn't shaked too much. Time was , in some shots, around 1/5 - 1/20 of a second

Of course, it's a bit hard to tell about sharpness on a clinical level, but man these sure look beautifully sharp to me. But the REAL surprise here are the out-of-focus highlights, transitioning into CREAMY smooth colors in the background!

I can bet you'll be able to get some fine portraiture with this relatively fast "creamsicle" lens. I've always felt that a 50mm lens is sometimes mistakenly overlooked for portraits.

It seems to me that you did WELL. Very well for 16 pounds and change! Nice buy, and I particularly think it's a beautifully worked up lens.

As I expected based on my previous Chinon experience , this lens is so good! Congrats!

Do have guys have any opinions on the chinon 55mm f1.7. Wondering if I should go ahead and trade it for my smc takumar 55mm 1.8.

Sharpenss, bokeh characteristics, color, etc?

You're a big help here, thanks a lot.

I had the 55/1.7 Chinon. It's a really sharp lens (even borders on APS-C were very good), but I can't compare to the SMC 55/1.8.

Did you realise the Chinon is a K-mount lens and the Takumar is M42? I've never used a Chinon lens but if it beats the SMC Takumar 1.8/55 it must be fantastic.

It is a screwmount. I'm hoping it would have better bokeh characteristics than the takumar (the taks can be gotten for less than $20 too).

As I remember, bokeh of this lens was good, but nothing exceptional. Unfortunately I haven't good exaples for ilustration. I found only one...

This is very nice smooth bokeh in my opinion.

OK. This thread was originally about a K-mount lens
