Thanks to Shrek, I got a set of 3 original Zenith extension tubes in a nice Bakelite case.
http://forum.mflenses.com/bnib-original-zenit-extension-tubes-m42-t16537.html

Here are some trials made with them this afternoon.
2 first shots without the tubes, all the nexts with.

1/ 40D + Jupiter-9, all shots handheld.

set at f2.8, Iso 200, 1/2000 s :

set at f4, Iso 200, 1/250 s :

now with the first tube, f4, Iso 200, 1/250 s :

second tube, f4, Iso 400, 1/320 s :

third tube, f4, Iso 400, 1/250 s :

Now all tubes together, f4, Iso 400, 1/250 s :

2/ 40D + Soligor 400mm f6.3
I wanted to test the minimum focus distance reduction with the tubes.
So, with all tubes mounted, the min focus distance is about 3 meters instead of nearly 7 meters.
Here are the results, handheld :

f6.3, Iso 800, 1/500 s :

f6.3, Iso 800, 1/400 s :

I am really very happy to have jumped on Shrek's offer ! Very Happy

I sware I did, Sir ! Laughing

Notice : Iso 800, speed at 1/400 and 1/500 s.
Sure, it would be better with a tripod.
