I recently acquired an Auto Revuenon 50 1.8 for next to nothing out of my local store's bargain bin. M42 mount.
At first I thought is was a Takumar - fluted focus collar etc but no such luck.....but
......it takes beautiful pictures. My 50 1.8 Tak has competition
I can't find much on this one on the net; plenty for the 1.4 but not for the 1.8. Is it one of the Tomioka's, or Chinons, or anything please?
Writing round the front element: F=1.8 f=50mm No.103644 AUTO REVUENON.
Thank you

I have a 50mm 1.8 Pentacon MC and it is not the same appearance; this looks like a Takumar and some 50mm 1.4 Revuenon lens pictures I have seen on the web.
I'll be in touch, and thank you both

A big Thank You. That looks almost exactly to be the one.
A bit of further research finds that it might be rare in South Africa but not in the rest of the world
There's one (a Cosina one) on ebay at the moment. I don't know how to attach a link but I Googled Tomioka Cosina 50mm 1.8 and it was the first one that came up. Whether or not mine is Tomioka matters not to me; it is a lovely lens for the princely sum of £1
Superb forum and very friendly. Thank you all, especially to Spotmatic for greeting me as a new member and hassling me to send a picture.

You are lucky ... all the older "traditional" camera shops locally are long gone, along with their bins of miscellaneous accessories. Just one retail outlet now, and their stock is "limited"!

You are still on the safe side. Although I've got some 100+ MF lenses of which I don't need and use quite many any longer, I still don't manage to sell a single lens. IMHO that's somehow sick.
Maybe I should look for some mental assistance. _________________ Thomas Bernardy
