First time when I saw Patrick's shoot with this lens I was lost I would get this lens so much. Now I found it!

Lens arrived in nasty looking, but both glasses are crystal clear (after cleaning) when I saw at first look I thought it was stored in garage it was so dirty. Seller described as "excellent" Smile

I have an 105mm f2.5 AIS and an P.C 105mm f2.5 , but faster is better for focusing with split screen.

It seems to me that the filter rim is bent.
Isn't it?
Anyway you paid a tone of money and the condition is poor.

I am not a price fighter to get lenses cheap as possible... lens is fine.

A mint copy is around 500 USD in my price database, not many showing up.
Both side are crystal clear just had to clean it, mechanically perfect 50% off is a good price on a rare lens in my opinion and I not expect from anybody to sell a first class lens on less than half price.I am concern about less lens but quality one than a lot common lenses. I learned from Orio Smile Except Meyer and CZJ because I collect them.

I think that's a pretty good price for such a sought after lens!

Attila
Mine is very disreputable looking - I think it was used as a football or something. But the glass is completely clear and all the mechanics work fine. I love this lens and I am sure you will treat us to some more fine shots once you get it outside

Will be interesting to see a comparison with the 2.5/105 AIS.

As I know know no difference , I have both lenses so I am curious too.

It looks a lot better than mine! You will find that it is (arguably) sharper than the 2.5 - I find it so but the difference is extremely marginal. I also find it a little less forgiving in the focussing, more misses with the 1.8. But when you get it right - it sings

Congrats, Attila. I have a 105/2.5 AiS and a PC version like you. They are both great lenses. And 1.8 version is my wanted lens, too. I'm eager to see your photos of this fast lens. Regards!
