3x 55/1.4 Tomioka: Revuenon, Porst MC, Cosina MC

Some time ago I sold my Revuenon 55/1.4 (the version with metal focusing ring). The lens was very good, but I need money and I prefered S-M-C 50/1.4 Tak. The weakest point of Revuenon was absence of proper MC.

I decided to buy a new one, but found out, that there are some MC versions of this lens, but they are not common (majority of 55/1.4 from Tomioka were not multi-coated). I got Porst MC and Cosina MC. Surprisingly, their MC is not the same and it's even different to DS-M Yashinons.

Revuenon is purple-gold
Porst MC is cyan-purple-yellow and some greyish blue
Cosina MC is red-orange-purple-blue and some greyish green
DS-M 50/1.4 was (as I remember) cyan-blue-purple-green

here are some pictures:

I will keep Cosinon MC 55/1.4 Smile

//ed: one question: Is Tomioka 55/1.4 copy of CZ Pancolar 55/1.4?

Who built the Porst? I was under the impression that some were from Tomioka.

All these Japanese M42 55/1.4 lenses (Revuenon, Porst, Cosinon, Sears, Mamyia, Vivitar, Chinon, Rikenon are from Tomioka, I¨M not sure as for later MC Chinons). Later Porst lenses (Pentax K mount) are from Cosina (some says they used Tomiokas optical formula, but I have no idea).

I'd like to know, if Tomioka adopted 55/1.4 design from Zeiss, or developed their own...

I think those M42 lenses were made by Tomioka. Porst is a retail speialised in photo equipment in Europe (Germany, The Netherlands ?). Under this label (and Carena , Hapo, etc. owned by Porst) were marketed many photo related gear made by various manufacturers (Tomioka, Cosina, Pentacon/Praktica, Mamiya, Fuji, etc.).
See for the cameras : http://forum.mflenses.com/other-lenses-and-cameras-t2802.html#19750 see for "Porst & Carena & more cameras".

Porst resemblenace Revue (Revueflex/Revuenon) regarding photo gear.

Yes, Pentax's (Asahi's) SMC coating is hard to beat Smile

By the way, know someone a link where I could find a database or something similar with Cosina cameras (not those cameras made by cosina) but the Cosina camera models (all or close to all ever made).
Thank you.
