I'm looking for a good 28/29 mm fast enough (2.8 ore less), sharp and usable also wide open and possible cheap, to mount on Canon 7d (with m42 adaptor). Any idea?
And about 35mm? any good cheap lens?
Thank you.

Daniele.

How cheap is "cheap"? If you specify price range, is much easier to suggest some lenses...

Ciao Daniele
you have great photos on your Flicker, congratulations!

With regards to the lens, it is difficult to find wide angle lenses that are both cheap and good at wide open, as you probably already figured out.
My suggestion is to go for the MM version of the Contax Distagon 2.8/28
You should be able to find one for around 250 Euros
Do not buy the AE version because it's weaker on the corners.
But if you are going to use it with the Canon 7D, then you can also buy the AE version because you will not use the corners of the lens. This way you can save up to 100 Euros compared to the MM version.
People speaks well of the Olympus manual 28mm lens but I don't know it.
Seeing the level of your photography, I will not recommend you cheaper lenses, because they will disappoint you.
I think the 250 or so Euros necessary for the Distagon 2.8/28 are the minimum that you can spend to get a lens that is good enough for you.
If you add some more money you can also buy the Leica Elmarit-R 2.8/28
But I think the Distagon is on the same quality level and costs less, so a wiser choice.

For that money, you may try a Tamron 2.5/28
But it's soft and much vignetting wide open. It's excellent when stopped down to f/5.6. But you say you need it good wide open.
You must realize that nobody makes gifts, for that kind of money you can only expect to buy poor wide angle lenses.

Yashica ML 28/2.8 would be a good choice I think.

Yashica seem interesting, but what type of lens mount? m42?

Contax/Yashica bayonet

So k-mount?
What's a good price in euro for this lens?

No, the K-mount is Pentax' bayonet mount. The C/Y mount was used by Contax and Yashica SLRs.

A well scratched , looks awful Nikkon 28mm f2.8 AIS if you can find any will be fit into price range and best from all options.

A good condition Olympus 28/2.8 will go for ~€35-40.

I've ordered Yashica 28mm on ebay...seller say: " this lens have Y/C mount with adapter to EOS you have no infinity"
What's meaning?!?

Thanks

Seller is saying that the lens won't focus to infinity (for landscapes) when used with a Canon EOS adapter. This is nonsense as all my Contax/Yashica lenses focus to infinity. If there's a problem, he's probably using a rubbish adapter.

Ok, do you think this is a good and right adapter for canon 7d?

Thanks again.

I like this lens very much, I have the 2.8/28 PB version, here are some shots wide open so the op can see what this lens is like wide open. Very cheap in PB mount, 5-10 euros but won't hit infinity on a canon, I modified mine so it will.

I think this shot proves it's sharp wide open:

100% crop:

I also like the coatings on this lens, good contrast, colours are perhaps a little 'cold' but it's all-round a good lens, especially for the price it can be had for. The M42 version is also cheap and will hit infinity without modification.

All the pics were taken on an EOS 10d so the same size sensor as the op's camera.

Hope that helps, I think this lens is a steal for 5-10 euros, I paid about 5 for mine.
