Thanks Attila.

I imagine that the silence about the cam quality says: Hummm..........the built's quality...........only if it's very cheap and if it work properly (not very common).

Did I understand in the right way? Laughing

M39 not problem, I think that I have the adapter to M39. Both series, that's OK.

But cam quality. Now I say Hummm....... too.

The Zorki 5 will be pretty much the usual sort of USSR camera quality - a bit rough but it might just be working fine.

(If you want to use Leica M fit lenses it won't be any use because it's not possible to put the bayonet lenses on a screw body - the mount's wider and the register is shorter. But I guess you already know that Very Happy )

If you're after a Russian Rangefinder then only buy for their character not reliability. Get from FEDKA.com, Go-cameras or similar. Ebay will be risky, unless from reputable sellers. Most of the bad press comes from people expecting them to be Leicas or the battered copies that appear on evilbay, but be prepared for problems.

I have a FED2 which has a long base so great for accurate focus. The rangefinder is easily adjustable if it is out.

As I said, if you like the FSU cameras get a FED or a Zorki, but do some research to see which is the one for you.

Let me know if I can help further.

I think the Zorki 5 may be a bottom loader, which I think may be a pain.

When I bought my Fed 3, there were some Zorkis (6?) with a hinged back also... the view finder on the Zorki is better than on the Fed, but on the samples I tried, the Zorki rf patch was very faint. So I went with the Fed.

Yes, the Zorki-5 film is charged from the bottom, in the Zorki-6 from behind, where he opens the lid.

Thanks to all, guys.

Stephen, there is an adapter, I have one in somewhere. I don't use M39 from 1982 (year from which leica didn't make parts for them anymore). Perhaps I remember badly. I shall not pay to know. Wink

I shall wait, any M3 will come out.

Thanks again. Rino.
