I always thought the Nikkor zoom 43-86mm was goofy.

Acutally its not that bad, 28-84mm is exactly a 3:1 zoom ratio.

LOL! I thought that lens makers were pretty accurate... or at least claimed to be accurate!

We should thank sigma for being honest and admitting they are not sure if its 84mm, and if the aperture stops down to f/4.5 Smile

Yashica ML 42-75 is actually really nice lens to use (FF). Begin with the 75 and just expand it to 42 when neccessary.

Certainly weird but remember, 5 % tolerance and more if you go to MFD.
Some 50mm may just be 51,89mm.

The mass-Rollei had 43 mm. 55/1.8 isn't uncommon. I hear the extra 5 mm ease the design very much.

85-210 (Sun-oid, already discussed)
Soligor/Whatever C/D UMTS 60-300 (the weird thing is the 60 mm on a tele)
Minolta 35-105 AF
Soligor/whatever 19-35 (for FF not APS)

The Voigtlander Zoomar 2,8 36/83mm.

Very particular portraits, like calidoscopy.

SMC Pentax 1:4 45-125mm, in both M42 & K-mount

Asanuma auto-zoom C/D 45-150mm 3.5.
Heavy beast, filter 67mm. MFD 140cm, not so nice for 45mm, but a separate "macrofocusing" till 50cm.

I have both of those lenses and they are good quality. On aps digital its like a 70-200mm.
