it WAS delicious Klaus. a bit too much on the creamy side, I like cheesecakes for being light, but taste sure was first class, and then those chocolate toppings, hmm

yep rbelyell, it was worth while that I had spent close to one day and one night posting my problems and inquiring, now I handle the camera better, and so are the results.

Mo-Fo there is one big difference in shooting M42 lenses between the *istDs and the K-x. With the *ist I used to take Av mode and it metered, well, not perfectly correct, but useable, sometimes I needed some exp. bias, it seemed more reliable to me than using M mode pushing AE-L ( later Pentax models the 'green' button ) to meter. With the K-x I started out using Av mode, but that had been bad....sometimes, with strong sunlight and stopped down a bit, even +3 exposure bias was not enough and it still underexposed ( that 3 ladies in the other thread was an example ) in shadows it needed around +1.7, at low light none at all, and that is a rough estimate, it was freaking difficult to get exposure right in Av mode.
Now I dropped it and use M mode pressing the green button to meter. Hm..one step more, but so far metering seems to be even more precise than it was with Av mode on the *ist.

Second thing was that Lightroom does not have the camera calibration for the K-x yet, and I had a difficult time to correct, with Av mode, often badly exposed photos. Then I started using the bundled software that came with the camera ( silkypix converter incorporated ) and the results are much better.

I am not sure if the K-x RAWs really require more post processing than those of the *ist, so for they do, but that very likely could be due to first getting the right setup. Jpegs of the K-x are reported great, but I hardly have used it, tried in the beginning but I thought I had spotted some of these too heavy saturated colors, maybe the easier blown out highlights which had made jpeg unusable on the *ist

- I'll keep on reporting Smile

Thanks for the reports I am taking notes Very Happy seriously!! Although as rebylyell states it takes awhile to get used to new "toys"...and I have never handled a DSLR in any form so all your help is much appreciated.
