Hi, I got an unusual Zeiss Ikon camera accessory the other day and have been unable to identify it. I could not find any part numbers on it other then the main logo and Germany. I assume it fits under your camera and then you can turn the knob and it moves the camera left to right for fine adjustments. Does anyone know what it is called?
On a separate topic does anyone know of any good Zeiss websites with information on helping to identify vintage accessories? I looked a lot on the internet but could find no such page but found a lot of Leica pages that go into detail on all the vintage accessories. I am including 2 pictures. Thanks.

Looks like a focusing rail. Perhaps for the Contarex

Wouldn't a focusing rail be going forward and backward? This one looks like it is moving left to right and right to left as you turn the dial on the side.

Rolling Eyes Rolling Eyes

The knob goes at the back of the camera facing you

I would use a contraption like this for taking 3d photos. Turned sideways.

Thanks for the help. I finally found a website that listed it with a picture. It is a Micrometer Focusing Slide and is part number 5522/5
