I am uncertain whether to sell this or not; for the moment, pending my effort to develop a Pentax mount for it, I would say that its on open offer if anyone has a good proposal for a trade. Please email me if you have a proposition.
Condition -
At f/1.5, handheld on Pentax K100D -
Notes -
- There is a set-screw missing on the focusing ring. It doesn't seem to affect anything.
- The focusing helical works, but is stiff. I expect it needs new grease.
- The diaphragm works fine, and the preset mechanism also.
- The glass internally is hazed and dirty, but it doesn't look like fungus (see backlit picture). It should be cleanable I think.
- Some scratches and cleaning marks on the front and rear elements, but not bad in my opinion.
- The glass is slightly yellowed, possibly because of radioactive elements.
- It takes a 58mm filter apparently, but its a bit difficult to screw one in because of a small dent in the filter ring, This should be easy to fix.
- The picture of the rear shows a missing Exakta locking lug. This is actually present, I just removed it temporarily while analyzing mount conversions. The lens mounts perfectly on my Exaktas.
- It comes with front and rear original plastic caps.
- According to the Zeiss serial number series this lens was made between 1955 and 1958, I expect more likely 1957-58. _________________ I like Pentax DSLR's, Exaktas, M42 bodies of all kinds, strange and cheap Japanese lenses, and am dabbling in medium format/Speed Graphic work.
