So, at the end of last month, my girlfriend left me. Of course, to ease the pain, I needed to buy a new lens. But what? I thought about the Olympus 14-35mm f2 (yes, I still like AF sometimes) but then decided I would have more fun with some MF lenses instead. So I got my first Zeiss Smile





It's very sharp wide open (perfect for cats) but then we all know that already Smile

It was a two-year relationship and I was sorry to see it end. But my heart is less heavy now the Zeiss is here Smile The lens is a Planar, made in Japan, Contax mount. Is this a good one? I have learnt, from others here, that there are no bad Zeiss lenses, only bad photographers Smile

I asked because the bokeh looked new to me, but I still didn't try my lens on close subject.
Also I don't see any trace of CA or bloom on your white cat; maybe the Oly is more resistant than the Canon

Maybe he wanted to say that Zeiss have some weak, but it is up to the photographer to avoid them and use the lens at his best

Maybe the weather in England is better for Zeiss? Less sunshine = less bloom?

You'll see soon that the Zeiss lenses keep their value, age nearly not, cost hardly any money, stay very sharp and they won't leave you alone....

I have tried to take some pics of cat - in the UK as well -
not really good light conds but colours are always fresh Smile))

Decided to take my 85mm out for the day this weekend - but I got into town and bumped into my ex-girlfriend and I didn't want to do any photography after that. All I have are the pictures I took from the bus:
