I would be interested to see the Enna Lithagon bokeh. |
I don't have an adapter for this, so I made do with some stiff card with an appropriately sized hole in it for the lens:
All shots at f4.5 (max. aperture)
(the wind came up suddenly - it's not normally this soft I don't think)
I guess it's actually a fair bit softer bokeh (or at least the bright lines on specular highlights aren't as hard anyway). Still rather busy though.
I'll have to try it out with film and see how it goes. |
Thanks for posting these-almost looks like you need a hood for this lens. Would you post an image of the lens i.e. if you have one handy-if not I can look it up.
Just checked and I see it has a deeply recessed front element-so its not the hood. _________________ kathmandu

It has a hood! These lenses are extremely/famously prone to flare (and this one needs a cleaning too).
Mine is in Argus mount. They're also fairly common in Exakta mount (rarer in m42 it seems), and there is a revised f3.5 version in M42 - with a plastic barrel.

I've shot a lot of landscapes with it and it works brilliantly for that type of work, I can post samples if you wish. |
I have seen your samples Ian, if they are the same ones you posted here before. |
Yes, hence I asked, I also use my Meyer Oreston 1.8/50 for panoramic work, both work great. _________________ I don't care who designed it, who made it or what country it comes from - I just enjoy using it! |

You got a very nice copy. I really like the Bokeh in your 3rd shot. I like lenses that render images this way.
Even some of the cheap lenses produce Fish skin Bokeh, but not as well.
This is my Haminar preset 135 f3.5. This is the only shot I have from this lens, and sadly I missed focus , but it does demonstrate the Bokeh.
Think I will get it out and retest it.

Its the Hanimar 135 right? Not Haminar. They sometimes came packaged with Praktica Cameras .
I have a post war 180mm Telemegor that behaves like this.
It helps if the subject is in focus. |
I don't know why I do that. I always mix up the name. Yes it's a Hanimar.
I tried this lens out shortly after I bought my Canon 10D , thought it was a junk lens.
Now I need to retest it because most of the problem probably was my focusing problems with my 10D.
I might wait to get my veiwfinder magnifier first. I believe it has a 14 blade appeture, but the minimum focus is marked as 3.5 meters. _________________

You're all doing better than me. The last two dozen or so lenses I have bid on have all gone *way* high in price. I tend to slap my maximum bid in and leave it. As this seems to not be working to any degree, I'll have to try my hand at sniping. _________________ Too many to list. |

Really? Thanks a lot for the info. I'll try to get one.
I want to collect three 135 lenses with completely different bokeh rendering. I already got Sony STF 135 with it's gaussian blur bokeh (modified to EOS mount) and Meyer 135 + Zeiss Planar & Sonnar 135 with their normal bokeh _________________ Carl Zeiss Jena: Biotar 58/2 1Q, DDR Pancolar 80/1.8 MC, Biotar 75/1.5, Biotar 10cm/2, DDR Sonnar 135/3.5 MC
