I am wanting to buy one too.... I've always managed to get things loose with rubber rings, but I now do have some lenses that will not get loose, and I do not wat to ruin them.
I have seen many of these on ebay, from china/hongkong, (and even without shipping fees! ) for very little money. They are in the 10-20 dollar range, so that's quite cheap I guess....
Anybody here experience with them?? _________________ My Flickr photostream: http://www.flickr.com/photos/chantalrene/

I had bought this: http://www.ebay.com/itm/5-of-Spanner-Wrenches-1-32-Great-Tool-for-Lens-/200395375638?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item2ea87ec416 type of spanner set, but it consisted of 3 different pieces 3/16,1/32 and 3/32. Metal quality is very good. I`ve used them multiple times in situations that really tested them and I was happy. However the rails on witch the spanner parts move are made way too small for the holes which causes misalignment. But in time you get used to it. Fixed ~ 50+ lenses with these.
P.S I payed ~ 40 USD shipped for them. Also got the extended rails for bigger lenses. _________________ I have many great Russian cameras and lenses for sale on my ebay account, please check it out: http://www.ebay.com/sch/piksius/m.html?_nkw=&_armrs=1&_from=&_ipg=25&_trksid=p3686

I ordered from here: http://www.micro-tools.de/en/Lens-Tools-oxid/. It's not the cheapest option but quality seems to be good. |

Well my spanner is actually very usable. I have fixed 30-40+ lenses and not once had an accident... _________________ I have many great Russian cameras and lenses for sale on my ebay account, please check it out: http://www.ebay.com/sch/piksius/m.html?_nkw=&_armrs=1&_from=&_ipg=25&_trksid=p3686

probably . You do have to be careful with them and have some practice before you can use them on more expensive lenses. However for a price like this is definitely worth a go. _________________ I have many great Russian cameras and lenses for sale on my ebay account, please check it out: http://www.ebay.com/sch/piksius/m.html?_nkw=&_armrs=1&_from=&_ipg=25&_trksid=p3686
