I recently bought this adapter for my K10D and it will not turn and lock into place. I understand this is a common problem and that one or two of you have filed one down so it will fit.

I want to use the adapter as it was intended, not make it a permanent fixture on a lens or camera.

What do I file down??

The cheap ones can be junk, I've filed chunks off them to get them to fit. I won't buy them new but I pick them up at the camera fair and with kits. If I buy new ones I get them from SRB Griturn, who I suspect supplied them to Pentax Europe. I've looked and measured both the SRB and the genuine Pentax and can't see any difference at all.

Yes, it's £4-68 as opposed to £18-95, but they work. If you're gluing them to a lens and removing the spring clip then the cheap ones are OK, once you've got the needle files and made them fit.
