Ok, Leica lenses are expensive. We know that.

But isn't this (Leica 35mm f2.5 Summarit-M) way too expensive?
14.000 Euros for a 35mm f/2.5 lens?

What is so special about this lens?

Have a look at Nikon RF cameras and lenses. They beat this price easily! Wink

Do you have a link?

Price is driven by supply and demand.

It seems to be a mistake, or perhaps the lens was discontinued. Others list it at very reasonable prices:

Seems to me it's about a grand's worth of glass and metal with a red dot on it. You're basically paying 13 grand for a few letters engraved on it beginning with an 'L'...

Not for that lens. It's either a typo or something else wrong.

Nah, that's the point moved one digit to the right. It should be 14,00.00€, not 14,000.00€.

It's a typo. Look at the other lenses they sell:

I too thought it could be a typo.
But it is a Leica... Laughing
So I asked here.

Why not simply contact the retailer? They probably are embarrassed now.

It's obviously a typo. Why would ask here instead of simply asking the seller?
