probably should get one of these Contax RF => Sony E adapters ...

I found a separate Contax RF external bayonet adapter made by Kipon, and it's excellent. It was somewhat expensive, but not bad, and I don't regret paying a bit more for the high quality. For the internal CRF mount I've been using a simple Ukrainian home made adapter and I haven't had any problems with it.

Pentax-M 50mm f/1.7. Can you believe I’ve never tried this lens? So far I like it’s tiny dimensions.

Mamiya Sekor C 4/210mm - my first sample had a fogged front lens after storing it for prolonged time without front cap. The "new" one looks good, though:

Then an interesting Sigma supwerwide - the 21-35mm (II), here shown along with its rival, the Canon nFD 3.5/20-35mm L. It will be interesting to see how the Sigma compares to the much more expensive Canon. Built quality of the Sigma certainly is very good, however the Canon has a considerably larger angle of view than the Sigma, in spite of only 1mm difference in focal length (20mm vs 21mm).

Finally to well known (and well performing) AF vintage lenses, the Minolta AF 2.8/100mm Macro and the Minolta AF 4.5-5.6/75-300mm (I). The Minolta 100mm Macro lens is as good if not better than the AF Nikkor 2.8/105mm (I), and the Minolta AF 75-300mm (I) is better than any vintage MF 100-300mm zoom I know (including the Minolta, the different Canons and the Tokina / Tamron stuff).

In addition, there was also a like-new Konica Autoreflex TC with an equally beautiful Hexanon AR 1.8/40mm:

Finally - last but not least - a nice Zeiss Contina with a Novicar Anastigmat 2.8/45mm. Is that a triplet? Or a Tessar design?

Altogether a mere CHF 105.--.

I have been busy too, for a change.

Nikkor H 50mm f2.
It came with a some what beaten nikkormat FT-3, which I have not seen in person before.

Also in this package deal is a Nikkor H 300mm f 4.5 for the collection.
Quite a bit of fungus on the inside of the rear most element.
The focus throw on it is quite a bit shorter than the much newer a/i-s version.
A future project, if I can get up enough nerve to get inside it...

From what I can see in the FT-3's finder, the 50 "H" is surprisingly sharp.
It needs a quick a/i conversion that I will attempt in the next few days.

Edit: Managed a couple of quick frames of the 300 4.5 H nikkor.

Showing the simplified 2 position tripod "foot".

Odd looking a/i conversion. The aperture ring appears to be plastic.
Other than that, it seems to work fine.

Pulled a great deal of tobacco smoke residue off the glass.
The Zeiss lens wipes were coming off a dark smelly brown- possibly pipe tobacco.
I had thought it to be internal fungus.
The rear element was just coated with it.
I'll get to the rest of the exterior after some test shots...

Nikkor H 50mm f2.

That's one of my favourite 50mm lenses - it has a well balanced "low-contrast" softness wide open, and gets really "sharp" (high contrast) around f5.6. Certainly an important piece of lens history.

I got one about one year ago - it was sitting in the display window of my preferred local photo shop, and I couldn't pass by ... also a true classic!

Interesting!

I wonder when they started marking their lenses with angle of view like that?
It actually makes good sense when I sit down with a coffee and think about it Mr. Green

Got the conversion done just in time for the last few long sunrays with the D-810.
My copy is fairly muted wide-open, and as you say, quite sharp by f5.6.
Got a couple of frames to up load yet...
The coating colors are certainly different from the late 70's period lenses I'm accustomed to: blue/magenta.
The lens is well put together, and looks to be a "bridge" with the external aperture pin screw, and modularized return spring independent of the bayonet screws. Those screws are epoxied in, but no where near to the extent of the earlier lenses. The epoxy can be broken without heat.

Edit:

f2 here.
Re-sized only to fit here.

f5.6. I like this a lot!
Re-sized only to fit here.
I'm always surprised with how fast the sun sets. Less than 15 seconds between the two frames above, and the changes in light are quite readily apparent.

Hefty center crop here.
f5.6 again.
The little red fox squirrels are more than tolerant of me. From a good 60 feet/19 meters away.
Looking nice so far. Now to get the time to get this lens out in good daylight.

It makes very good sense as long as the sensor format stays the same. I see it on most adaptall-2 lenses. But is is gone again on newer ones where they started more plastics. My 46A and 01BB don't have it.

I suspect that focusing on your f2 image may not have been perfect. Using one of my Nikkor-H 2/50mm lenses there's plenty of detail at f2, even in the corners. Low contrast though!

100% corner (left) and center crop (right). 24 MP FF though, not 36 MP as with your D810!

I may have slightly pulled focus, but it's not that far off.
All shot at ISO 1600- already pretty well dark here by the time these were made.
I'll get corner crops in a bit stronger light.
The squirrel frame already has me convinced! Wink
I like the rendering on yours- especially the greens.

The aperture ring is a very modern aluminum extrusion. It may have been recently made.
The colored numbers on it are not quite Nikon.
I am still cleaning the glass at both ends.
So far, it is a very hard lens to focus, with it's short focus throw.
I'll know more, if and when I can get it cleaned to my satisfaction...

Found a Vivitar Series 1 90mm f/2.5 + 1:1 extender for 30€. It has a dent in the filter ring but I'm not complaining Smile.

Dang g.a.s.! Rolling Eyes Rolling Eyes

Couldn't resist this one at all.
Interesting complement to my s.c. 1.4.
It's an a/i-s version that seems to have mostly favorable reviews on line.
Front element is a little finger greased here- I'll get it cleaned forth-with Razz

Voigtländer Color Skopar E 21mm f/3.5.
At only 230 grams an ideal companion for the hikes I'm planning this summer. I will probably combine it with the Minolta MD 35/2.8, MDiii 50/2 and MDiii 100/2.5, so I need to bring only 1 adapter. All lenses are pretty compact as well.

Nikkor P 105mm f2.5
Glass is in very good condition.

Here it is again, with it's somewhat dented hood.

Couldn't turn this one down on price Wink
It does not have water inside it.
That is price sticker residue on the coatings- par for the course for a thrift store lens.
The people just don't know about these things.

Let us know how this one turns out.
I saw one on the local buy and sell, but it was a bit on the steep side...

Mamiya prismat Ph with three lenses.

38mm f/3.5
48mm f/1.9
100mm f/3.5

Checked off an item on my list. Very happy I got this set even though camera needs repair and 38mm lens focus ring stiff.

Me too! I remembered I searched and found a thread on this forum about the 38mm but couldn't locate it. In that thread, people just use a helicoid and some duct tape to do the adaption. For temporary solution, it is good enough.

I bought all the PH/CPH lenses separately before also buying a CPH camera with a further 48mm lens. The lenses came originally with a metal rear lens cap that can be altered into an adapter for use on a modern camera. From memory the 48 and 100mm lenses are as you'd expect, but the 38mm was not great. It has a fairly low element count and is an early example of a retrofocus lens, but your mileage may vary.
