Knowingly purchased with fungus and it is now at the technician for CLA.
I have used it before it was sent for repair and it is a very good performer even with the fungus.
Should be wonderful when restored.

Interesting. Yesterday i found a like-new FD 2.8/300mm SSC Fluorite at a local dealer ...
How did you pay for it, and how much do you expect the restoration to cost?

Only few close-up shots on D200, I'll adopt it to Nikon-F mount soon. Interesting!

I picked up a compact little Tokina 70-210 SD that was attached to a Pentax MX I was after. I'm putting a roll of film through the camera right now, and I've been using this Tokina. Honestly, I'm not too impressed, just going by what the images look like in the viewfinder. But that's ok, I was after the MX anyway. I'll put it up on eBay for $20 or something just to get rid of it.

I spotted this one very cheap, so I picked it up before looking up its reputation.
It's the lowly and much-maligned, Meyer-Optik Gorlitz Domiplan 50mm f2.8.
Fortunately, it's a "1Q" version. And the optics are good.

Today I got another Minolta lens, nothing special at all, but quite rare to find here in Switzerland: The Minolta MD-III 28-70mm 1:3.5-4.8. The lens is said to be a re-badged third party lens, and its reputation in German Minolta Forum is not the best.
The lens came with a X-300s and the Tokina SD 4-5.6/70-210mm lens, the latter also being an interesting little beast.
More willl follow as soon as i've shot a bit with those two "new" lenses.

Steve, if you cursor up a bit you will see a Tokina 70-210 SD lens that came with a Pentax MX I just bought. Is this the same as yours? I've been shooting some Tri-X with that MX, using the Tokina for the first selection of shots, and to be honest, I'm not impressed with what I see through the viewfinder. Hopefully the negatives will be better. It is an SD lens after all. _________________ Michael

I think you're going to find that little zoom lens will shoot well.
I have their 35-200 SD version which came attached to an OM body. Wide focal range zoom usually suck. But this one was sharp and contrasty. Surprised me. Must be the SD glass. Your 3x zoom should be even cleaner. But of course, I'm shooting digital. _________________ "The eyes are useless when the mind is blind."

A Canon nFD 200mm f/4 finally arrived from Japan yesterday. I wasn't ready for how small this telephoto prime is. I thought I was mistakenly sent a 135mm f/2.8 lens. What a nicely designed lens!
And I was gifted with three Canon FD lenses on Saturday...50mm f/1.4 SSC, 135mm f/3.5 SC and nFD 28mm f/2.8.
Making for a pleasant quartet of Canon glass.

There are hundreds out there but most have either tacky corrosion to the aluminium barrel or are showing scratchings in the glass surfaces from cleaning - or both.
This one looks OK to me - just awaiting its delivery and that could take a while.
