Just bought a lens with a YS to PE-H adapter.
Does anyone know what I just bought? I know about YS. I do not know PE-H.
(BTW, lens itself is a Spiratone YS 18mm, f3.5)
Plan is to remove that adapter, if it's not m42, and put on an m42 adapter.
Course if PE-H actually is m42, that would be sweet.
ETA
By way of explanation, part of uncertainty is because seller's photos showed the lens with a cover in place over the adapter. |

Appreciate the response.
I did try to research this using Google before posting the OP. No luck.
This must be a really obscure mount from forty years ago. That's about when my lens was being sold. It must be a mount that never went anywhere, now long ago forgotten and faded into the mists of time's passage.
Not a problem. I'll just remove the adapter. Unless it has a usable thread.
FWIW, below is a photo showing clearly the adapter with the PE-H designation. With that darn cover on there, you cannot see anything:

I have a lens with YS-PE - it's just an ordinary m42 screw mount.
Btw you can remove the YS mount and put a T2 adapter instead - the difference is only the auto aperture linkage which is not there in T2. _________________ Stefan

Thanks, Stefan, I surely hope you're right and I think you easily could be.
That darn cover obscures everything, but the adapter certainly has the "feel" of a threaded m42 mount, judging by the diameter of the cover, etc..
It's gonna be a while before I find out for certain. My skunk of a seller still has not shipped. and with Christmas coming up on Thursday, well . . . . . . . . . . . . . |
