What are your thoughts on this wide angle lens lens?

Honestly, I don't see there is significant improvement in the corners. So, there is no need to stop it down further. Wink


I do see quite signifcant improvements when stopping down - especially since the images you have posted are only 10.5 MP!

That said, the above improvements when stopping down look quite similar to what I see e. g. in a Minolta MC 1.8/35mm ...

Yes. The mid-field does improve with stopping down.

Good to know the MC 1.8/35mm behave this way.

It helps stopping down for sure. Vignetting and sharpness is a lot better, but the lens suffers from quite a bit of CA.

Yes. CA is there which i think it helps to get the vintage feel. Laugh 1
