Some BW testing. Trying to make my conversion process better.
Do they work at all? C&C?

With Tamrons SP90, SP180 and SP300/5.6. Last one is from a DA10-17 (AF).

Perhaps a little more contrast on #2 and 3? But they really look good to me and I am nitpicking.

It's taken probably with 10mm end of the 10-17 zoom. So the FOV is about the same as it is with 15mm fisheye in full frame.

Thanks for the tip. The light is really nice in colour in those two (sunset) so the BW-conversion is bounded to come out a bit flat. I'll try the contrast boost though.

#s 1,3 and 4 look a little flat to me. Maybe a little more contrast to separate different alyers of sea and sky?

#2 and the fisheye view are great.

Very nice pictures, #2 is really impressive, the B&W PP is also perfect for me!

2 and 4 are really great; but i think its because they both benefit from not needing any contrast within the water because the subjects are so strong. to my eye--and this is very subjective--where the water is the primary subject or background, i think it would benefit greatly from more contrast, or a different light/angle. again, this is subjective stuff here. Thank you all for the suggestions and nice comments.
Here's a bit modified versions:

The 4# turned out great IMHO. 2# is my personal favourite.

i was thinking more about it and wanted to offer some suggestions. you may want to try shooting b/w in higher iso's like between 800-1600 and boosting contrast all the way. also, for low contrast scenes you might try a red filter...

#4 is taken from the platform in the last image. 30-40cm above the water with SP300/5.6.
