Hmm, had a few beers last night and accidentally bought a 28/1.9 Ultron Shocked

(image is from Camera Quest's site)

Has anyone used this one on a Nex at all? I bet I'm in for some colour shift, and not just when I get the credit card bill Laughing

Had no experience with Ultrons. But wondering about the iq. Please update with some samples Cool

I previously owned the 35/1.7 which was excellent but had a long minimum focusing distance (like a lot of rangefinder lenses). The 28/1.9 gets you about 20cm closer which could make the difference for me Smile

Here are some (more or less boring) example pics I found on a German forum:
http://www.dslr-forum.de/showthread.php?t=964784

Seems to be very good especially for lowlight but not as good as the Leitz Summicrons or Zeiss Biogons

Pick any one in here > http://www.pbase.com/kkawakami/mylens_cosina_voigtlanders

This particular lens is a bit flare prone, otherwise quite good lens IMO.

I had one when I had Leicas. It was one of my favorite lenses of all time, but because when it's wide open it resembles the ancient large-format Voigtlander Heliar--a very sharp core image with a diffuse halo around it, giving a really beautiful glowing quality. Not, however, the needle sharp high contrast people expect from modern lenses. I didn't regret selling the Leicas, but I really should have kept that particular lens. :-(

here are some recent samples on NEX 5 ( vintage model from 2010 Sad )
congrats to your new lens...you´re not the only one acting this way Confused Mad Crying or Very sad

there is no color shift - all resized and a little bit resharpened, the last one only to show the rendering - it fits into the old Summicron and 75mm Color Heliar way of showing colours and bokeh

Your NEX-5 will not produce colour shift in the corners. I'm positive about that.
This lens will be perfect for the NEX. Congratulations!

From what I see on this forum and elsewhere many of the Voigtlander lenses can compete seriously with Zeiss and Leica

Look forward your results Graham! I expect way better images from your hands than most samples.

Hope you like it Graham, I think better light will make better samples, even the best lenses need good light to show their best.

I'd offer to take it off your hands but I have the Orion-15 which is amazing.

Forget the girly camera and use it on a rangefinder. Laughing
