Vivitar Tokina 2.8/35mm

I got a vivitar tokina-make 2.8/35mm. It is a tx mount - m42. This one seems to be considerably thinner with a smaller front element (but same filter thread) than the other version that I've seen; it is not this one: http://www.flickr.com/photos/damianbde/3388371295/ When mounted to the camera it only comes out about 38mm. Anyone know anything about this particular version? Many thanks in advance!

i got a vivitar tokina-made 35/f2.8 today. arrived from e-bay seller. i wouldn't call it small, but it sure is well-built, smooth as goose grease on teflon when mounted on my spotmatic. rats, can't find my metric ruler, but the one in the photo looks like mine ...
