Took a little trip to the Little River Canyon and Falls and took along my Vivitar Series 1 85mm f/1.4 lens and my CZJ 20mm f/2.8 Flektogon for some Landscape photos. Turned out pretty good for hand held. Need to go back some day for some large format and medium format shots.

Many wide shoots shows either miss focus or wide open shoots, soft, soft . I think you have to check where is infinity exactly and use F8-F11 if not did it . These are not Flek 20 level , something went wrong.

The first one was with the CZJ at F/5.6 and 1/100th second.

That last one was with the 20mm CZJ using F/8 and 1/25 second hand held. Low light overcast day. Pretty good for the conditions I'd say. All of them with a UV haze filter on the 20mm. Without a filter on the Vivitar.

Caught a little sun on the 5th one. CZJ F/11 1/200th second.

CZJ F/11 1/40th second -.3 exposure bias

CZJ F/4 1/400th second. -.3 exposure bias.

Nice places, but the photos look rather soft. Out of focus?

even if the pics are soft, the place is wonderful and the autumn colors splendid

I will go back one day soon with my 4x5 view camera and my 645 and 6x9 medium format cameras. Also a tripod this time as it is not a long walk to get there and the sharpness will improve with it's use.

That's a place to spend a few happy hours with a huge bagfull of gear. In a few days those trees will be a riot of colour, and the river and falls make a perfect setting. That's a great set of 'sussing out' pictures, I'm looking forward the 'Big Dawg' pictures. Wink

This is on top of Lookout Mountain so at that distance above sea level the leaves will fall soon. It is a good 240 mile round trip so I'll probably go back in the Springtime for another shoot. The streams are best in the Spring and Fall.

They look out of focus until you click on them and then they look very nice! A great location BD...please go back with the large format gear.

Great colours and what scenery!

I know this isn't the C&C forum, but I thought the same about the softness in some of the images until I clicked on them; they sharpen up quite a bit then.
