Those 18 blades give it bookoo bokeh, but if the OOF background contains point lights or reflections, they turn into glowing circles. Oh yeah, close focus is about 3.5m / 11 feet. Filter diameter is 67mm.

Anyway, I've seen references to many varieties of Vivitar 200/3.5 glass, but none to this particular version. Does anyone here know about its vintage and make?

This is the same style as my Vivitar 85/1.8, interesting (see monkey thread), interesting!

Seems to be a tokina made lens, like the 1,8/85.

With 50mm extender, ISO400, Flash(-1,5ev), F8, 1/200sek handheld.
Focusing distance about 2 metres.

Wow, 2 meters -- that's a nice standoff for such a magnification. I'll have to do a bit more playing around with my extension tubes, I can tell.

Off-topic, I know, but I have a question about your MTO 500 mirror -- have you encountered any problems with the back side of the lens hitting the pentaprism housing on your 450D? Pics I've seen of the MTO suggest to me that I wouldn't be able to use one with my XS (1000D). The pentaprism housing on mine protrudes 0.6" (~15mm) from the lens mount.

Sorry, forgot to say, that's a half crop, about.

No, MTO has absolutely nothing inside the mount, even if I hadn't the adapter.
