First one what I seen.

I expect quite good quality, like Tokina 17mm

Serial starts with 37, meaning Tokina built (if it's apply also for non Serie 1 lenses).

yes I have been wondering whether the initial digit manufacturer code applies outside of the series one. I can find no definitive answer on the net. Maybe the kiron klub have the answer?

I guess this is Tokina made 37 should ok on every lenses. Not many manufacture made 17mm lenses.
