I'm actually a big fan of these early Viv 135s, but if you are talking one of the m42 Takumars, i find this very hard to believe, as they are best-in-class lenses, particularly the late 6 element S-M-C tak.
If you are talking one of the k mount lenses where Asahi was using the "Takumar" marque for their budget lenses, then I'm more inclined to agree.


Indeed I'm talking about the k mount one. Sadly it's not the Super Takuma many people talk about. This Vivitar is sharper and there is something in it's look that makes me like it more than the Asahi
