Vivitar 135/2.8 Close Focusing in Nikon F mount.
My S/N starts w/ 28, and I am using a Fotodiox Pro adapter for EOS mount.
WOW! Best $125.00 I ever spent on a lens!
These are straight out of the camera, from RAW to Bridge, then to Image Processor to resize and to convert profile to sRGB.
NO PP! Wow, yet another lens that needs none to minimal PP, yey!

Fine examples from a lens that is not always given due respect.

I have two of those, one in M42 and one in TX. Different makers, I think, too. They're quite good for portraits and as a close telephoto. Most of the photos I've taken with them have been technically fine or good with flaws due to human error.

You should also try the Pentacon 2.8/135, that's my favourite 135 and I own a dozen of them.

Nice images. I would get one but I just don't use 135s much.

Well I only have the ordinary Vivitar 135 f2.8 and it's a good lens, but I don't think I'd pay $125 for the CF version as you can get the Vivitar 55mm macro lens for close up work, probably for less.

I had heard that this was a very good lens - close to the Series 1. I bought one with a PK mount thinking I could modify it to fit my Sony - wrong! I'll keep it around until I eventually get a NEX. In the mean time I have the Series 1 which is my top 135mm.

Pretty happy with this lens on NEX 5N.

At distance too

I had this lens for a while. With the 1:2 ability and the weight (relatively light), the 135CF was a joy to use.

I have this lens but have never used it. It is Komine made, serial 28xxx, and near mint condition. It looks very well made, and I do keep picking it up, but like many have said, there are many 135's that are fantastic, and I have far too many of them. But I may try this one soon. Glad to hear that others have had such a pleasant response with it.

I have one in Pentax K mount. Ive always wondered why its called close focusing instead of Macro?
I mean if it goes to 1:2 like many macro lenses, looks like a macro, works like a macro, why not just
call it a macro?

this is third lens in a set of macro lenses made by Komine for vivitar (and other brands like panagor) - 55mm/2.8 macro , 90mm/2.8 macro that both go to 1:1 magnification without the help of macro tubes or converters. 135mm/2.8 goes to 1:2 magnification so that's probably why they called it just close focusing, because it's shorter siblings go 1:1. just a marketing choice from vivitar, this lens under other brands like Panagor or Elicar are marked as macro
