Nice series, one of the best sides "hidden" in a forum like this is to make friends all around the world.
Thank you Kuuan and IAZA, thank you for sharing this wonderful experience!

Renato

right Renato!
I have made very good photography friends in 'real life' through internet in various countries, and I have invitations from various more. To meet someone with a common, strong interest like in manual lenses for the first time is like meeting an old friend Wink

thank you Oman, in my photography heart there always is a small battle between the documentary and the intent to do something more 'artful', in the end most important is that the result is of interest Smile

thank you everybody for looking and commenting,
cheers,
Andreas

Wonderful series. I enjoyed it very much.

The web makes the world a much smaller and more friendly place.

I'm speechless - not like me I know. But I have to say something about how lovely your photos are, how lucky you had people there to show you around, how beautiful the place is everything...

Just beautiful. Thank you for sharing this with us.

I could not agree more! It's a pity that the term globalization usually carries negative implications. The global communication through internet imo has a great positive impact.

I'm late to this thread, but what a superb collection of photos, Andreas! After seeing these (faves too numerous to mention)
I wonder why I have photography for a hobby. Laughing The Heliar shots are impressive, but really like the rendering of that
Pen F 1.4/40 lens, wow. You look like you're well over 6 feet in height, maybe 6'4"? I'm about the same height as the other
guys. Wink Thanks for sharing! Cool

Forgot to mention, nice to see Suat et al, in person!

Thank you Bill!
Yes, I really like the Pen-F 1.4/40 a lot too, and also the f1.5/60! I really was missing the 40mm that long day out at the countryside when I mistakenly had taken the Pen-F f4/25mm instead, that meant no lens between 25mm and 60mm and the 40mm would have been perfect for the school kid's portraits.

Bill I am not all that tall, I am 185cm, I think that is just over 6 feet. Back in Austria this is just a bit above average, in Asia it is rather tall, and I am happy that my EVF tilted up drops the camera below my chin thus my camera is not looking down to people that much Wink

great photo series and it seems like an interesting trip from you Kuuan!

i've been there too, unfortunately I do not have any jogja photos because at that time I do not have a camera.
jogja with the culture is an interesting place, some of my friends are from jogja and they are really nice and friendly people.
Do you taste the typical food of Jogja, such as nasi gudeg or bakpia pathuk?

You seem very friendly Kuuan, I really hope to meet you and hunting photos together as you do with friends from jogja someday.

regards
ryan
