As usual I transfer lenses to dear my friend Orio from outside from EU because Italian customs has nasty behavior they sitting on packages for a month for more. Shipping cost is double in this case, but lot faster and I have a chance to test some other lenses than mine. So if anybody need transfer from Ex-USSR countries let me know Wink

I got rangefinder lenses so test will be limited on close up shoots.

Orio seems got a Jackpot at least I hope.

He bought a Jupiter-11 135mm f4 looks brand new never used.
I not expect much later version I think it will be average.

Jupiter-9 8.5cm marked with red T (or something else) I really expect superb quality this lens made from Zeiss glass by Zeiss people on Zeiss machines. Unbelievable new looks never mounted.

Third one is Jupiter-12 3,5cm f2.8 I guess this will be also superb quality , because of rare lens form I can't test on SLR Sad

This is optically and mechanically also excellent, just need a bit clean the barrel form Russian conserve material.

Ah all have genuine case and front caps!

Great news Smile
It seems that I have been lucky in buying this set before the bad news from my tax person arrived. I would have surely not purchased it if I discovered it after.

now I am waiting for the pics! Very Happy

Maybe I've got one of those early soviet lenses that were made using abducted Zeiss materials! Shocked
In fact this fact is documented precisely for Contax equipment.

Now that wouldn't be bad to have an incognito Sonnar 2/85 for 88 USD !
We are talking of one of the lenses that made the history of Carl Zeiss

I am sure you got this one.

Have you tried focusing with them? I am curious how distant you can focus with them on a reflex. I tried once with my Sonnar 90 for Contax G, holding with the hand in front of the 400D, and I could only focus max. distance 10 cm not more.

I tried Jupiter 9 I could make sharp images from my monitor I estimate to ~ 20-25 cm.

@Attila
How are some of those ex USSR countries to deal with? I've seen eBayers from Ukraine, Slovakia and others . . .
Being that far a field I didn't know if I was taking a risk, even though I've had luck with the Far East Confused

Thanks,
Jim

I lost only package from England and I have problem only with Austrians and Americans. So I guess they are not worst than any other countries, I suggest to you to dealing with them. Problem only perhaps your customs, might be they sit on these packages long time. Like Italian customs.

Laughing
Yes, Canada Customs can be quite inconsistant with the times they hold parcels.

Thanks for the info,
Jim
