OK, this one is a mystery. This is the first of these I've seen, so they can't be common. The serial number begins with "20", which isn't in the well-known Vivitar series.
It doesn't look like any of the typical Vivitars of the time (I'm guessing late 1960's-early 1970's). It certainly looks nothing like the Tokinas that they also sold, with the exception of the characteristic Vivitar simple knurling on the focus ring. This may be pre-1970, so its an extremely early automatic lens for Vivitar.
The styling looks like the Yashinon-DX or Sun Optics of the late 1960's.
Does anybody have something like this ? _________________ I like Pentax DSLR's, Exaktas, M42 bodies of all kinds, strange and cheap Japanese lenses, and am dabbling in medium format/Speed Graphic work. |

I've just noticed that the JCII sticker on this is dated "75".
Many of the later stickers gave pass dates, and I suppose this is one of them. So this lens is pretty certainly from 1975.
It just adds to the weirdness though. _________________ I like Pentax DSLR's, Exaktas, M42 bodies of all kinds, strange and cheap Japanese lenses, and am dabbling in medium format/Speed Graphic work. |

Never seen one like that from Vivitar. It reminds me a bit of the silver stripe Yashinon DX's. _________________ -Jussi
