OK, this one is a mystery. This is the first of these I've seen, so they can't be common. The serial number begins with "20", which isn't in the well-known Vivitar series.

It doesn't look like any of the typical Vivitars of the time (I'm guessing late 1960's-early 1970's). It certainly looks nothing like the Tokinas that they also sold, with the exception of the characteristic Vivitar simple knurling on the focus ring. This may be pre-1970, so its an extremely early automatic lens for Vivitar.

The styling looks like the Yashinon-DX or Sun Optics of the late 1960's.

Does anybody have something like this ?

I've just noticed that the JCII sticker on this is dated "75".

Many of the later stickers gave pass dates, and I suppose this is one of them. So this lens is pretty certainly from 1975.

It just adds to the weirdness though.

Never seen one like that from Vivitar. It reminds me a bit of the silver stripe Yashinon DX's.

Remind me for Beroflex and some old Tamron.

I ran this past a friend who knows a lot about Vivitar lenses...Here was his response...

Looks to be the OLD Kiron-Panagor made model.
