I promised I would share some scans from the first roll of film (Reala 100) that I ran through the Revueflex SLR that Larry gifted to me. I have VERY few shots that are presentable. Focus was off on most of the shots, this was my first time trying without a focus confirmation light to guide me. I wear glasses, but I can not wear them when shooting as it is really awkward for me to shot with them on. This may be a big reason why they were not in focus (that and lack of experience). I shot with 4 different lenses. These shots are from the MIR 1B.

I do not like the background bokeh.

This is a crop from a much larger shot.

Mike, these are unrelentingly....ummm....nice shots! Laughing So you're not at
the top of your game with this, need to restore the vision thing, shooting
without your glasses with a reflex is a no-no. You can almost get away with
it with rangefinders, but still a good idea with those, too. I wear glasses,
it is just something you will have to get used to. So are you going to be
showing other pics with different lenses *feeling around behind my monitor
for the eyedrops* that will be nice...

The first shot looks to be the closest in focus.

Bill

Yep, other lenses to follow Crying or Very sad

Well I can only get better (hopefully).

It is hard for me with glasses, I like to have my eye tight to the viewfinder (to block as much stray light as possible. I have tried with the glasses and actually knocked the lens out, twice. I just need to practice a bit more, the sacrifices we have to make.

What you might want to do and I've been thinking about this myself, is
finding an eyepiece rubber cup. Wondering if they make a generic one,
that you can work to fit a wide range of cameras.

Dang!
I have spares and was going to drop one in the box I shipped today Bill but forgot. Anyway most generic rubber eyecups will work with most cameras. It is worth a try as they are really cheap and easy to find (under $5). Other options include high eyepoint viewfinder specific cameras like the Nikon F3HP. It is designed for folks who wear glasses. I do not so I can not say how much difference it makes. Also a viewfinder magnifier may help. Most are adjustable although, maybe that may not help depending on your specific condition. Mike if you want it I have a pentax/asahi viewfinder magnifier that may work on the revueflex. It fits on Pentax, Minolta, and Yashica/Contax cameras and should go on that cam as well. Happy to send out to you.

You will find a use niche for this lens Michael. It is a good lens, but not one that can do everything. It needs a hood and like you say, the background blur is not the strong point, so better not to use it for macro work or portraits, but it has a very good microcontrast and a nice 3D rendition that can make objects pop out if the lighting is right.

I do not really want to add an eye cup (unless it is a small one) as I do not want to fight with it everytime I need to open the film door. I will keep the viewfinder magnifier in mind Andy, I think I should try and practice shooting with my glasses first. To bad they didn't think of the adjustable viewfinder (like on all my DSLR's) earlier.

Oh, I just found this Michael. Please have a look at my message on the Flek thread.
