Ocean beach - the Pacific Ocean side of San Francisco - is an other-worldly place in the summer fog. The light is very strange at noon, and the cold wind drives most people away.

Herb Caen said the light was like being inside a "great, grey pearl".

I took a walk there on Sunday with the trusty Takumar 28. The driftwood usually ends up in kids beach bonfires, but there was still some out, and someones idea of a "Burning Man" driftwood sculpture.

I just LOVE B&W images of the beach.
They are one of my preferred subject-style matches overall.

I often find myself those trunks on the beaches, they are really spectacular.

Great set of images and why not posting more? Very Happy

I join all the other comments, nice beach shots!.
I like the B&W processing, adds dramatism to the tree trunks on the sand.
