Contrasting to the sunny beach shots by Oldhand, hot even if made in BW, here are some chilly night shots left in colour. By chance, I have been walking in the same moment on the other side of the globe, having the same nice Hexanon 1.8/40 on my NEX-5N.

All shots are taken at f2.8, with some simple colour boost and brightness tweaks before the resize. |

These are a great value and I predict prices will rise as more folk adopt the new CaNikon mirrorless offerings. Crazy good wide/normal lens that can be had currently with no wait for 40ish and substantially less if you are patient. I got one "as is BIN" from a major ebay reseller from Georgia for 21 dollars including shipping. It was sold as "ugly" but came in in near mint condition. _________________ photos are moments frozen in time |

Thank you very much, fellows, for your feedback! Along with the immediate pleasure it is especially valuable in case of such shots taken "for myself".
I found the lens very well fit for urban shooting on APS-C, in a large variety of light situations and scenery. The lens hits high score in four grades: 1) its focal length enters in the around-normal prime range on APS-C, 2) its luminosity goes well even for late evening shots w/o or at 2.8 (with different character as for CA and glow/neat edges at these two aperture values), 3) it has a very good sharpness from w/o, and 4) it renders pleasant, creamy bokeh at close-mid range.
It's true that waiting patiently for a while, you may get the lens for 20-30 $ or euros in this period. And if you are impatient, you may get it BIN for 40-50. Both are pretty good price ranges. There was a hype for the lens a couple years ago that boosted the prices two- or threefold as compared to this. Now the moment seems good for getting it with calm. |

I agree completely. It's my favorite Konica AR lens. I like it even more than my 57mm f/1.4.
I think I paid $20.
I wish it had three more aperture blades, but that's my only real criticism. |

Beautiful photos.
This was one of the first MF lenses I ever acquired. Got it back circa 2005 for five dollars US. That was before mirrorless cameras, of course, and the lens was worthless for use with an SLR camera body . . . so very inexpensive. |
