A very hot day here so an afternoon walk at the beach was in order.
RAW on Fuji X-E2s. PP in LR and NIK
So lucky to have the beach to myself.

Splendid photo & development work! And a holy contrast to the weather we have on the other side of the globe.

Thank you Alex.
It has been so hot and dry here that many trees and shrubs are shedding their leaves to conserve moisture.
These leaves have come from a banksia.

In the Film era, I had three o four 1,8/40 lenses from kits.

I usually bought TC cameras with these lenses or with the 50/1,8 mm

In my tests with the 1,8/40 and the oldest 1,7/50 hexanon, I could not see diferences between the images that both lenses produced.

Only adventage for flare resistance of the 1,8/40.

The diapo were seen thru 30X loupe.

As 42/43 mm lens, the 1,8/40 mm is a good compromise between the 28 mm and 50 mm lenses.

Thank you uddhava.
The gums are shedding their old bark and revealing their new growth.
It is a very beautiful time of year here in Australia

Nice shots Oldhand.
The Hexanon 40mm is one of my favourite lenses using film, quite a few times the results just look better than other lenses and hard to explain and is a sorta 3d effect in depth in some of my shots.
Unfortunately I have to use the basic Konica Autoreflex TC which has some limitations as my Konica FT-1 (have three but still can't get one working properly) and FS-1 are electrically unreleliable.
Anyone who wants to try film the Konica TC and 40mm lens is a VG combo and a cheap way to start

I had no idea that gum trees could grow in copses, or forests? I always imagined them being solitary things. I have a snow gum in the back garden. You never stop learning.

Most of Australia's forests are eucalypt forests.
This time last year they were burning at the start of the worst bushfire season we have ever had.
This year the rains have come to this part of the country and they have shown remarkable recovery

I'm still scratching my head about thinking they lived in splendid isolation. I can attest to them being hardy buggers. Mine blew flat in the middle of a winter when it was about 12 foot, roots up in the air etc.. All I could do was push it vertical, heel it in as best I could and re-stake it. Next spring, there it was as happy as a sandboy.
