I'm going nuts trying to find something that probably doesn't even exist. I need an UWA (say 20mm or less) lens that has a filter size of 67mm or less. I have a small fortune in 67mm filters that I don't want to replace. I can use step up rings for a smaller filter mount. I'd be using it on an a7 so mount would be OK. And it really needs to be under $250. Writing this post I feel like I'm asking for the proverbial "10-400mm f/1.2 lens for under $100" but I thought I'd put it out here and see if anyone has any ideas.

Well, I have good news for you, the lens you seek does exist. It is the well regarded Tokina RMC 17mm f3.5.

Filters? Smile

Tamron 17 has built-in filters. Also Pentax Fisheye 17, but 20mm takes 72mm filters, too bad. 16mm Zenitar Fisheye uses small filters camera end of lens.

Step ring thickness increases required filter diameter.

Older UWA tend to be slow...filter exposure stops slow more.

Thanks for the recommendation! Like 1 small It's a bit slower than I'd like but I can live with that as one major use for the lens will be landscape and long exposure w/ND filter shots where a fast lens doesn't buy me much. I just looked on that auction site and found a nice Canon FD mount copy which I snapped up.

Thank you!

You will like the Tokina, it's a very good lens. I've used mine with 67 mm ND and Pola' filters with no vignetting. But it does need a petal hood, a plain hood is no good for it.

The one I just bought doesn't have a hood. Looking at the pictures I don't even see where a hood would be attached except for the filter screws. How does your hood attach? Like you I'll also be using it with ND and CP filters.

* UPDATE * I just found a generic screw in petal hood on Amazon for $6.78. Problem solved. Like 1 small

Hi, there are actually plenty of those! Some of them:
CZJ 20mm f2.8
Nikkor 20mm f2.8 or f3.5
If you can tolerate one more millimeter,
Olympus 21mm f2 or f 3.5
Rollei 21mm f4

The Takumar 20mm f4.5 is excellent imo.

Although usually selling for a bit more than your budget, the Pentax-M 20/4 is a gem if you can live with the F/4.0 aperture. Very light (150g) and compact (29.5mm long), it uses 49mm filters (slim filters only). Image quality is good, with superb colors and good sharpness, except for the extreme corners that never get really that sharp. It's one of my favorite 20mm lens. Unfortunately, it's a rather rare lens because it was not in production for a long time (1977 to 1984) and it will certainly become even more sought after once the Pentax K-1 users will start looking for a compact superwide...
