Hallo again!

Steinheil is known as astronomical optic producer -

how are the votes for this lenses,

must be a better quality, the prices are good but lower than zeiss ?

I have the 135/4.5 and it's a fantastic lens, better than the Triotar/Trioplan in my opinion, and very near to the quality of the 4/135 Sonnar.

As for prices being lower than Zeiss, I don't think so. They are lower than Contax lenses, but it's not a fair comparison. If you compare them with the aluminium lenses by Zeiss Jena of the same period, I think you will find that Steinheils (probably because they are rarer) are often sold for more money, in comparison.
I am speaking of course of same mounts - like M42 vs. M42 or Exakta vs. Exakta.

I have two Steinheil a 85mm f2.8 + 135mm f2.8 both have superb optical quality. 85mm f2.8 crapy built , they used plastic inside Sad
