Pentax-110 lens 70mm f/2.8 DIY adapted on Sony A3000.
Purchased this lens together with a 50mm f/2.8 and a 18mm f/2.8 via a Japanese website "Buyee.jp". Just 1,000 yen (approx. $8 US), but shipping cost was 2,300 yen. There was fungus grow inside this 70mm lens, but not the other two. I dismantled it, cleaned the glasses with mild soap water, and then reassembled it. Then I adhered two 5mm M25 extension rings to the rear of the lens with epoxy to adjust for the correct registration distance. Finally, just screw it onto a M25 to NEX adapter and the lens is good for use!
What do you think about the performance of this lens on A3000?

I like most of the shots. You could easily skip the second since no sharp point. You managed to pull out nice colors.
This is very special lens. I usually end up with many weak shots but those few that are good, are definitely worth taking the lens for a walk. The thing is that lens excels only if certain criteria are met.
I am confident 70mm will get its fan base over time. Here few BWs from a while ago (street and portrait): http://forum.mflenses.com/pentax-110-lenses-t69996.html _________________ ---------------------------------

I have this lens and the other 110 lenses apart from the zoom.
My simple opinion is all of them need an aperture because wide open they are not very sharp and outside the central area are pretty soft. _________________ I don't care who designed it, who made it or what country it comes from - I just enjoy using it! |

Yes, center is not sharp and light fall-off is serious. However, I like the mood that these characteristics together created. |

I use this on my OM-D, little expensive but works great.

I've mounted a 110 20-40mm zoom on to a pentax Q for a nice little zoom. But all is right, stop it down some how.
I stuck a binder ring on the back and painted it black to simulate the aperture being closed. Increased performance admirably. I imagine that would work for the 70mm, and 50mm I should find myself a little 70mm and then I could throw the zoom away |

Binder ring, what a good idea! Thanks for the advice.
