I just received yet another broken Praktica, purchased for the sake of the lens, in this case a nice silver Primoplan, probably from the 1950's.

It seems to be in excellent shape. I took it out this morning for a test. It doesn't focus as close as more modern lenses, but thats something that became more common in later times.

It flares more when wide-open than what I am used to, probably because it isn't as well coated as a Takumar. It does have a very "pictorial" quality under those conditions. I am pleased with it.

Beautiful! You DON'T have to get up really close to take a fine image, and these are a great example of that treatise. I totally agree with you about the pictorial quality. EVERY ONE of these is a "keeper"...and the images of the children are a treasure...just LOOK at the way they POP out of the background! It doesn't get much better than that!
