In January I took the chance to aquire a Nex 5 including the 18-55mm kit and the 16mm pancake for a really small fee.
So far I really love this small camera and especially enjoy unsing it with my mf lenses.
Now I would like to swap the 16mm pancake for a Cosina Voigtlaender 4,5/15 because this lens is so beautyful.
How do these two lenses compare in terms of IQ?
Which version of the VC 4,5/15 is best for using it with a Nex?
And finally which Nex is the best camera to attach a RF wideangle lens? - Is it true that Nex 5N performs better in terms of color shift than the Nex6? Will it be significantly better than my Nex 5?
Tell me your oppinion.

Not sure about Nex6 but 5n should be certainly better than 5 in terms of color shifts in corners. _________________ Stefan

5N was reported to produce the best corners of any NEX using rangefinder wide angels, the later 5R and 6 use the same 16.1 MP sensor upgraded with phase detection AF. I believe that their corners are just as 'relatively' good as on 5N, that 5N, 5R and 6 are equal in this regard.
( 'relatively' because with CV 15mm my NEX5n does have corner color shift, my Ricoh GXR M doesn't ) _________________ my photos on flickr: https://www.flickr.com/photos/kuuan/collections |

Hi, Timo.
I don't think that there is much difference. The later one has the M-mount bayonet and is coupled.
Performancewise the two versions are very similar. That's why I went for the cheaper old version - plus in silver it looks great on the M8. _________________ Personal forum activity on pause every now and again (due to job obligations)!

CV 15/4.5 is not suitable for any NEX cam without PP.It has strong magenta colour shift with the NEX5N and it's even stronger with the NEX7. _________________ shapencolour |

Not true for you but true for me.In search of UWA for my NEXes I came across L39 15/4.5 Heliar and Heliar 12/5.6 in M mount.Rejected both after initial custom testing, because intensity of colour shifting was not acceptable. This shift was software removable but too much bothering for someone like me. _________________ shapencolour |

if good or acceptable or not certainly is a matter of personal judgement.
recently we had a number of threads presenting sample pics taken with the 4.5/15 Heliar with NEX5, NEX5N, Fuji X-E1, Ricoh GXR M and Leica M8, see:

Actually even the samples taken with the NEX5 look very good. I wonder if any corner treatment was done with those, as often I have read and seen that color shift should be very pronounced on NEX5, also on NEX3 and NEX7.
On my NEX5N color shift is present most of the time, some smearing too. Personally certainly I find it 'useable', as samples show it also 'can' be very useable even on the NEX5!
However since I have the Ricoh GXR M I stopped using the Heliar on the NEX. The Ricoh clearly does a better job, I can't see color shift nor smearing. _________________ my photos on flickr: https://www.flickr.com/photos/kuuan/collections |
