I own a Schneider Jsogon 4,5 40mm; is there any connection with similar lenses like Meyer with same FL and speed? It has an awesone rendering, by the way...

I don't see a connection between your lens and a Meyer Heliopan 40mm, except that it is a 40mm too.

Yes, also a f4.5 but I don't know of any connection.

Here http://www.exaktaphile.com/tests/mark.pdf it is mentioned in a test, pretty sharp it seems.

Here is a jap. site about that lens: http://spiral-m42.blogspot.de/2011/07/schneider-kreuznach-jsogon-isogon-40mm.html
claiming it to have a 4e/4g CELOR lens design, which is siliar to the Dialyte the Meyer Helioplan is.

And btw it is not a "Ysogon", but a "Jsogon", maybe this is why you did not find anything about it.

To say the truth I did find some info on the web a while ago, but don't know the Meyer; mine has a different shape though than the most common version, it's like this one:

Thanks Klaus, my copy is 42x1, and my only regret is that it interferes with my 5D MKIII mirror...

I have never seen a "macro" Jsogon before. Indeed the Jsogon I have does not look like yours. Can you show the name ring?

Oops, you are right Sad

I probably messed up with my 40 Macro Kilar...

Sorry.

Any chance of re-posting your image please? It seems to have disappeared...

Thanks for sharing these. Very nice. I have a Jsogon myself, but haven't used it yet. I guess it is about time I did something about that.

Klaus pointed to my post on this lens from a while back.

It is indeed a nice compact lens with excellent sharpness and rendering. I could be wrong, but I believe it was an early attempt at non-retrofocus wide angle option for early slr's - probably made first for the Exakta. Was there anything wider for the Exakta when it was introduced?

Best,

Paul

Yes, I have previously noticed you have a habit of "borrowing" images from the web. Sometimes from people who would have happily let you use them, if you'd asked them first...
Here's a photo of my own example of the Jsogon. Taken with a crappy Samsung point and shoot. M42 mount. AUD $35 from a local market attached to a Praktica FX. Photo may look familiar to you.
