I am wanting to buy one too.... I've always managed to get things loose with rubber rings, but I now do have some lenses that will not get loose, and I do not wat to ruin them.

I have seen many of these on ebay, from china/hongkong, (and even without shipping fees! ) for very little money. They are in the 10-20 dollar range, so that's quite cheap I guess....

Anybody here experience with them??

I had bought this: http://www.ebay.com/itm/5-of-Spanner-Wrenches-1-32-Great-Tool-for-Lens-/200395375638?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item2ea87ec416 type of spanner set, but it consisted of 3 different pieces 3/16,1/32 and 3/32. Metal quality is very good. I`ve used them multiple times in situations that really tested them and I was happy. However the rails on witch the spanner parts move are made way too small for the holes which causes misalignment. But in time you get used to it. Fixed ~ 50+ lenses with these.

P.S I payed ~ 40 USD shipped for them. Also got the extended rails for bigger lenses.

I ordered from here: http://www.micro-tools.de/en/Lens-Tools-oxid/. It's not the cheapest option but quality seems to be good.

Hm... I had seen this: http://www.ebay.com/itm/170946080748?_trksid=p5197.c0.m619

As cheap as it gets... and free shipping. Looks good, but how does it look (and feel) in your hands....?

I have order this one but I think it does not secure enough. The wrench in micro-tools seems in good quality but they seems out of stock now.

Well my spanner is actually very usable. I have fixed 30-40+ lenses and not once had an accident...

probably Smile. You do have to be careful with them and have some practice before you can use them on more expensive lenses. However for a price like this is definitely worth a go.

I almost forgot... but i bought one on ebay for 17,99 USD including postage to the Netherlands (!). It's quite heavy, well built and sturdy, i really cannot tell anything bad about it, it proved to be very helpfull with the last few lenses i took apart!
Seller is "Soonwell-digital".

I bought the first and last spanner wrench I'll ever need, it's very well built.
